A new saturday Haiku Heights challenge. This week's prompt "light". A great prompt in this time of the year. The days become shorter and we are going towards Christmas. So a lot of items to write haiku about 'light'. I have a few haiku on "light":
the last rays of light
skylarks falling towards earth -
departing summer

departing summer
in the twilight
the light of the full moon -
the light of the full moon -
the first snow
cicadas singing
in the last rays of light -
the sound of water

the sound of water
For haiku-heights prompt 96 "light".
Sincerely,

I love to write in the classical way, but I not always succeed. I write in the so called Kanshicho-style, it's a style which has been made by Matsuo Basho (my rolemodel). In this style the sentences 5-7-5 are free and so it can be 3-8-5 or 6-10-3 for example:
a lonely flower
my companion
for one night
this is 6-5-4
But never the less I enjoyed to write these seasonal haiku.
You have a couple of perfect Haiku in words, feel, and imagery of the season, on the prompt word!! Loved them all!!
