Haiku Heights, shroud

For Haiku Heights' prompt 'shroud' I have composed this new haiku.

beneath the shroud
a pharaoh travels to the stars
everlasting life

Egyptian mummy-shroud

I love this haiku on shroud. I think this one is one of my masterpieces (how immodest for a haiku poet).

See you next week.

Before I wrote my haiku for this challenge, I almost gave reverence to the ancient pharaohs. There's a lot of interesting facts out there about them and the garments they wore during burial ceremonies especially, but I couldn't make it work.. You did an excellent job with this!! I'd say it's brilliant! Thank you for sharing!

This is wonderful. The Egyptians truly believed they were going to the to the star Orion via the milky way, by bark on the holy river in the sky. Love it !

Very nice. A pharaoh was not the first on my mind.
