Flowers in the snow

Dear friends,

Just a few minutes ago I visited Mindlovemisery's Menagerie to see if there was a nice Photo-Challenge. I was really surprised to see that there was a new Photo Challenge titled "flowers in the snow" and I just had to do this one.
A gorgeous photo of a beautiful rose in the snow ... it triggered me immediately and brought another haiku, which I once wrote, about Tulips in the snow, in mind.

I am confused
winter has departed
snow in april

snow in april
without hesitation flowers bloom
colors between white

colors between white
such a strange ambiguity
for Mother Earth

for Mother Earth
no doubts at all today
I am confused

Tulips in the snow
I just had to share this cascading haiku on Tulips in the snow. Several years ago it was early spring here in The Netherlands and nature was already starting to come alive again. Than suddenly, somewhere around Easter, it started to snow again, it was April than ... the Tulips in my garden were covered with snow ... such a strange sight ... Mother Earth for sure was confused, no doubt about it.

Well ... I hope you did like this post. See you next time ... Namaste.

ON BARE FEET, a haibun (reprise)

On Bare Feet

I wrote the following haibun. (Prose and Poetry united).

On Bare Feet in the Snow

I love walking on bare feet. So I do that a lot. As I come home from work the first thing I do is pull off my shoes and socks. It feels good. The air around my feet that have been enclosed in shoes the whole day. Even outside I am walking on bare feet.
Today I realized that I was on bare feet when I walked outside in the snow to close the fence. It’s so common to me to walk on bare feet.
In Summer’s, when our dog was still alive, I walked him on bare feet. I love the contact with Mother Earth as I am walking on bare feet through the grass, the forest or where ever. It feels like I am a kid again. When I was a baby I laid in my pram with bare feet. In that time I was pure and didn’t know much of the world. I didn’t know about haibun and haiku or what form of poetry.
Now … years later I experience that same pureness and not knowing when I walk on bare feet. Love that. Once again I have to walk on bare feet through the snow to close the fence again. The mailman has not closed it. When I have closed the fence I open the mail. In one of them I see a wonderful Anton Pieck card, such a nostalgic card. A little boy, poorly dressed, walking on bare feet in the snow and throwing snowballs. He laughs and his face is healthy red by the cold and the joy of throwing snowballs.

Haiku Heights April Challenge, day 4 "doubt"

A new day in the April Challenge of Haiku Heights. Again a tough prompt "doubt". I have searched for some synonyms of this .... I found confusion, hesitation and ambiguity with those words I will try to write some new haiku.

I am confused
winter has departed
snow in april

snow in april
without hesitation flowers bloom
colors between white

Tulips in the snow
colors between white
such a strange ambiguity
for Mother Earth

no doubts at all today
I am confused

See you tomorrow for another challenge for the Haiku Heights April Challenge.
