Haiku Heights April Challenge, day 4 "doubt"

A new day in the April Challenge of Haiku Heights. Again a tough prompt "doubt". I have searched for some synonyms of this .... I found confusion, hesitation and ambiguity with those words I will try to write some new haiku.

I am confused
winter has departed
snow in april

snow in april
without hesitation flowers bloom
colors between white

Tulips in the snow
colors between white
such a strange ambiguity
for Mother Earth

for Mother Earth
no doubts at all today
I am confused

See you tomorrow for another challenge for the Haiku Heights April Challenge.

Haiku Heights April Challenge, day 3 harbor

Hello all,

Day 3 of Haiku Heights April Challenge. Until now I had no problem to write a haiku on the given prompts, but this one harbor isn't easy. But ... never say never ... so I tried and came up with the following haiku.

young dolphins
stranded in the city harbor
hear their sadness

hear their sadness
lost and alone in shallow waters
without their mother

without their mother
crying their lungs out
young dolphins

Portofino Harbor

Well .... see you all tomorrow.

Haiku Heights April Challenge, day 2 "deserted"

Day 2 of the Haiku Heights April Challenge. Today ... deserted. A word I know and maybe can use for a new haiku. Let's go ...

deserted desert
every where you look sand -
the trail of a desert snake

the trail of a desert snake
crafting a wonderful sand sculpture
towards the oasis

towards the oasis
finally found water and man
deserted desert

See you tomorrow.

Haiku Heights April Challenge, day 1 "eager"

Well ... finally the Haiku Heights April Challenge has started. A new challenge to write haiku every day on a given prompt. Today's prompt is EAGER . English is, as you maybe know (and sometimes can read), not my maiden language. So I am not so familiar with Eager. I have search the internet and found a few synonyms of eager e.g. ambitious, desirous and longing. Those are words I can understand so I will try to write a few haiku with those words and maybe some other synonyms.

Well ... let's do this!!!

yearning for spring
the frost makes nature suffer -
snowdrops are blooming

snowdrops are blooming
they are longing for spring
after the dark winter

after the dark winter
restless cherry blossom buds
starting to bloom

starting to bloom
the old apple tree garden
yearning for spring

See you tomorrow, for another day in the Haiku Heights April challenge.

Emerging music and haiku

For

And their Thursday Think Tank on "music".

And also published for: Haiku My Heart

Music was always my first love until I discovered haiku. Music became less interesting and writing haiku became my passion. In this weblog I will try to combine both. So I will write a few new haiku (impromptu) with music (or an association on it) as theme.

the sound of nature
rustling leaves, singing cicadas
music of Mother Earth

music of Mother Earth
the cherry blossoms coming to bloom
without sound

without sound
winter departs on bare feet
snowdrops blooming

snowdrops blooming
the drizzling spring rain
the sound of nature

Well I think that I have succeeded in emerging both passions.

cloud patches
a dragonkite

a dragonkite
high in the blue sky
just like yesterday

The Mag # 110

Credits: Duane Michals
For The Mag another paint the picture challenge. I have written a haiku along to this wonderful photograph by Duane Michals. A little bit different from my other haiku I think, but I love doing this painting with words. So enjoy the read.

together as one
mirror mirror on the wall
separated again

Well ... 'till next week's The Mag.

Haiku Heights "Endurance" #112

Another Haiku Heights Saturday has come. I first thought with this prompt "endurance" I couldn't write a haiku. So I have searched for the meaning of endurance and after that I searched for some synonyms which I could maybe use to write a few haiku at least one haiku.
I found the following synonyms: ability, bearing, cool, courage, patience, strength and guts. I will not use them all, but I have a vision for writing a haiku.

bearing the cross
along the Via Dolorosa -
spring has come

spring has come
her patience was strong
during the winter

during the winter
nature is growing in strength
to bloom again in spring

to bloom again in spring
we need the strength of who was
bearing the cross

Have a good weekend.

Haiku My Heart

Also published for: The Poetry Pantry #92 of Poets United

Haiku My Heart

I almost forgot to write a haiku for Haiku My Heart this week because I had a very busy week at work. So I am a few days late but I had to write a new haiku my heart. This week was very busy. At my work in the local hospital I had a few patients that were given bad news. They had all cancer and it's my task, as an oncology nurse, to help them through this very bad news and telling them the possibility's for cure and care. It was a tough week that I can tell you. Very heavy sometimes, but I am always happy as I see how my patients flourish again when they hear what the possibility's are. Of course sometimes there is no cure ... that's giving me tears and sadness ... to be powerless to help them.
Under such conditions ... I am so glad that I have my haiku to write. So this week's Haiku My Heart haiku is inspired on my work as an oncology nurse.

tears falling
on silk pillows
life has gone

life has gone
leaving me powerless
such sadness

such sadness
on this grave of my brother
tears falling

Until next time
