Sensational Haiku Wednesday, Traditional Haiku

Join the fun!

A new Sensational Haiku Wednesday has already started, but I had to write a haiku in the Traditional Way of Haiku for this week that's the prompt of SHW. So here it comes.

It's a re-done version of an old one written in the Kanshicho style and now this one is in the classical traditional way of haiku with the classical syllable count, a kigo, a deeper meaning and even a kireji (an cutting word or sign).

I am not so familiar with the grammar of the English language so I have used a syllable counter to get this one right.

Well ... maybe I will see you again on a new Sensational Haiku Wednesday.

Sensational Haiku Wednesday, freestyle

Join the fun!

Dear Haiku friends,

It's a long time ago that I participated in the Sensational Haiku Wednesday, because of lack of time and of course keeping my other blogs up-to-date. I remember that for this meme it's necessary to write a haiku on the given theme in the classical way. As several weeks ago I gave my own 'Back to Basic' theme for my haiku meme. It's not my piece of cake to write in the classical 5-7-5 way, but I can say right from my heart that I love to write sometimes a classical one. So this week's theme of Sensational Haiku Wednesday "freestyle" I will use to write another classical haiku.

finally dark clouds break
after the rains and thunderstorms
the bright and warm sunlight

This is really not my cup of tea, but I enjoyed it very much. (Had to use a syllable counter ... smiles). Thank you for this opportunity to try (again) the classical way of haiku.

Thunderstorm
Well ... maybe next week again ...?

Sensational Haiku Wednesday, Love

Join the fun!

Also published for: Haiku my Heart

A new sensational haiku wednesday. In this week of St. Valentine the prompt for this week is "Love". Love ... the most needed energy for every one. Without love no life I use to say. And I think ... lots of others do think the same.
Unconditional love for everyone and everything is, in my opinion, the way to make our planet a better place to live. So let's go and write a few haiku on love.

red roses blooming
the smile of my lovely wife
my heart is pounding

love naturally
Mother Earth's wonderful face
blooming in Spring

she is lovely
the first full moon of Summer

Well ... I think this haiku triplet on love ... has become wonderful. I hope you like them as much as I do.

Sincerely,

Haiku Wednesday ; "Craft"

Join the fun!

A new haiku wednesday, this week on the prompt/theme "craft". I have looked for some synonyms for craft and I came up to the following one's: workmanship; trade wind; craftsmanship; a ship or in the fantasy sphere the craft can be witchcraft or sorcery.

So I will use these synonyms I think.

haiku craftsmanship
only one haiku master
Matsuo Basho

in the old harbour
a new seaworthy vessel
sails off to the world

this moonlit night
witches dancing around the oak
worshipping Mother

Sensational Haiku Wednesday on "silhouette"

Join the fun!

Also published for: The Purple Tree House, back to basic

Hello to you all. Another Sensational Haiku Wednesday. This week's prompt is "silhouette", must be an easy one I think. Let's go do it and join the fun of writing haiku.

boy's silhouette
on the white mansion wall
between sunflowers

under the willow
on the city's graveyard
weeping silhouette

playing with the sun
the shadows of my children
on the white wall

I have tried to write these haiku in the classical form of 5-7-5 syllables, not so easy as I thought, because I write my haiku mostly in the Kanshicho-style. In this style the syllable count is different.

Well ... until next week :)

Brilliance

Join the fun!

Again a week has flown away, surely this new year ... time flies :). This weeks prompt of the Sensational Haiku Wednesday is brilliance. I will see if I can write a haiku with this prompt.

days of brilliance
the cherry trees in full bloom
in my old backyard

my first classical
Basho's haibun Narrow Road
what a brilliance

honeysuckle -
the queen of  mansion's garden
Ah! which brilliance

Until the next week,

Sincerely,

SENSATIONAL HAIKU WEDNESDAY prompt "resolve"

Join the fun!

Another Sensational haiku Wednesday. This time the prompt is "resolve". It's not an easy one, but I will give it a try. And I shall try to hold on this time to the classical syllables 5-7-5. It's not really my way of writing haiku, but I have to try that. This also is a challenge ... and maybe sensational too.

puzzle resolved
the sound of a waterfall
makes me happy

cherry blossoms bloom
resolving bare branches
the first day of Spring

Wow! This wasn't easy, but I succeeded. This was a challenge, and I think maybe I should write more haiku in the classical 5-7-5 form.

Sincerely,

SENSATIONAL HAIKU WEDNESDAY, prompt "review"

Join the fun!

Another sensational haiku wednesday ... this week "review", looking back at the end of the year. How was it? This year was ... great ... I became an International known haiku-poet, the first anthology was published of Wonder Haiku Worlds and to that anthology I contributed 8 haiku and 1 senryu. It was a great honour for me.
And ofcourse this website of my. Yes ... I really had a great year.

another year
has passed away again
the same moon

the same moon
behind gunpowder fumes
New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve
after the fireworks
Ah! that silence

Ah! that silence
the first day of a new year
the wind of last year

the wind of last year
plays with bare branches
nothing has changed

HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR WITH LOT's OF INSPIRATION

Sincerely,

SENSATIONAL HAIKU WEDNESDAY prompt "preparation"

Join the fun!

Another week has gone by. Another sensational haiku wednesday ... this week's prompt "preparation", what can I do with that? Well I thought "it's almost Christmas, Winter is coming", so I have written the next haiku:

preparing Christmas
decorating the Tree of Light
Christmas carols

Credits: Christmas tree
 winter preparation
squirrels gathering
their winter stock

winter garden
the black soil makes me sad
expecting Spring

cherry trees blooming
preparing the sweetness
of Cherries

it looks so strange
the backyard of the mansion
soon will flourish

SENSATIONAL HAIKU WEDNESDAY "malice"

Join the fun!

A new Sensational Haiku Wednesday challenge. This week's prompt "malice" I didn't really know what to do with this one. Malice a tone of angriness, but I am not so good at writing about negative feelings such as malice, but I have given it a try.

such a malice
cherry blossoms in full bloom
the Spring wind!

despite
the rough weather, through the clouds
the full moon

in the garden
despite the heavy rain
a snowman

PS. In the last two haiku I have used a synonym of malice ... despite.

Sincerely,

Another Sensational Haiku Wednesday

Join the fun!

A new challenge, again a week went on so a new Sensational Haiku Wednesday has come. Also a new prompt "absence", not an easy one, surely a tough one, but I will give it a try. In this time of year (late autumn) surely there are images that are inspiring for this new prompt.

the first snow
autumn has come to an end
a last leaf falls

today a sad day
the bright autumn sun is absent
only the rain

Credits: Bare Branches

the bare trees
the backyard gloomy
no colours at all

the absence
of the blooming trees of Spring
makes me sad

Oh! that loneliness
the absence of all the leaves
even more alone

Sincerely,

Haiku Wednesday prompt "meditate"

Join the fun!

What to do with this new prompt "meditate". I love to meditate and writing haiku can be a meditative activity. So I will give this one a try.

SENSATIONAL HAIKU WEDNESDAY (26/10)

Join the fun!

This week's prompt "scare"

My interpretation of this prompt uses "scary" in stead of scare:

a scary sight
the bare branches
in the moonlight

COLOURED LEAVES

Join the fun!

Another blog where you can post a haiku. Also with a prompt. This weeks prompt is DARE. So I will give it a try.
