in the Bamboo
in front of the little cottage
a sparrow sings
the cool breeze
stroking the lovely face
of Buddha's child
the small garden
on the tiny balcony
also Spring

This blog is about haiku. A classical haiku counts 5-7-5 syllables. Chèvrefeuille (the pseudonym of Kristjaan Panneman, a Dutch haiku poet) however writes his haiku in the Kanshicho-style. In the Kanshicho-style the classical syllable count isn't used. Matsuo Basho (1644-1694), a haiku poet, wrote his haiku in Kanshicho-style for several years, but he returned to the classical way of haiku writing. !!! Anonymous comments will be seen as SPAM !!!.

I like the first haiku a lot.
love this.
:)
Anything bamboo draws me deeper
Bamboo was the theme of one of my first haiku (in dutch):
bamboe ruist
brengt de geest in vervoering
fluistert geheimen
In English:
bamboo rustles
brings my mind to ecstasy
whispers secrets
It was the 'title-haiku' of my first haiku collection which was published (by myself) in 1998. With this haiku collection I won my first literature prize of my career.
So bamboo is a theme about which I love to write haiku (or other poems).
very beautiful,
love the bamboo imagery.
Absolutely loved it....the balcony of Spring imagery!
Thanks for your nice words. Bamboo is one of my favorites to write haiku about.
