September Heights, day 7 Agile

Inspired by the theme at

Day seven (7) of our September Heights challenge. 'Till know I could write haiku on the prompts without searching for the meaning of the word. As you know English isn't my Mother tongue, 'cause I am from The Netherlands, and this day's prompt Agile I didn't know. So I had to search for the meaning and search for synonyms for it. Well I found the meaning of agile and so I found a few synonyms which I maybe can use for today's day prompt.
The synonyms I have chosen are: athletic, energetic, lively, quick, spirited and vivacious. I don't know if I gonna use all these, but I have to try ...

along the seashore
an athletic wanderer
looks at the waves

looks at the waves
the vivacious goose
missing its mate

missing its mate
but spirited as never before
the swan in the parc

the swan in the parc
finally found a new mate
along the seashore

Not a strong one, but ... well I enjoyed writing it.

Lovely cascade. I really like the first and second, but they are all good.

It is inspiring to me that you are writing in a language not your first. It adds another whole dimension to your writing! Thanks for sharing!

I lookup the word on google, even if I know the meaning. Just running through the synonyms over and over again sometimes triggers an idea! And as you say, writing one matters rathar than giving up on a prompt. I say all this, just to encourage myself too! :-)

I enjoyed this cascading haiku very much and found a hint of agility in the first .

The idea of the swan having the agility to move on to another mate is an interesting one. Nice cascade.

Liking the use of the swan

Bravo! English is my mother tongue, but I still look for synonyms all the time when writing - not just for haiku prompts. I use the Word/Review/thesaurus tab, and just keep it open beside whatever I'm writing.

I liked the sweetness of this cascade! I remember when I first checked up the word "agile". I checked it in an English-English dictionary and couldn't understand almost a thing, except that it had to do with tigers :-D Imagine - I still relate "agility" to tigers mainly. Well, jaguars, too... Or any other big cats for that matter, esp. cougars or cheetahs.
Best, M.

you are so talented....even though English isn't your native tongue, you write better than most everyone else....it's the emotion contrasting with the quietude that stands out to me....

Kris, I think it works best... just the first of the cascade, with the image of the swan, and that'd be delightful haiga :) Maybe the cascade took away a little. Just a touch.

I was surprised to learn that you are writing in a second language. I admire you, and love the haiku.
