Inspired by the theme at
Day 9, almost one third of this September Heights lies behind us. Today's prompt is Gloss ... I think I can write a few nice haiku with this prompt. Maybe I will write for today a none cascading haiku set, if I can do that of course, because I have become an addictive to that form (smiles).

mystical and magical
who is she?
who is she?
thrills of unmasking at midnight
exposed to the world

she turns into a man with
dark green eyes
Well ... this is really something heh ...

I am laughing out loud! Your surprise ending and I'm thinking that your cascading poems are writing themselves! Good one!
That was a cool surprise ending! I didn't know that gloss could mean masquerade. You captured the feeling of a masquerade very well (in more ways than one...).
Guffaw! Can't wipe the grin off my face! Really a great cascading haiku (I didn't know about these until I read yours a few days ago).
Really great take on the prompt. And I enjoyed the ending.
Your surprise ending is really unexpected. I enjoyed reading this.
A man??? Note to self: don't put all your trust in one pronoun :) Ah well... this is quite a wonderful take of the prompt. I didn't know either that masquerade is one meaning of gloss. I appreciate your research and thank you for sharing it with us.
A man, ha..ha...turns out to be not mysterious after all ~
Nice cascading haiku ~
Oh, wow! That was a surprise :-)
Great as usual.
Love your cascade. It reminded me of the mask festival in Venice.
haiku enriched with surprise and laughter.. :)
oooohhh so good!! I particularly like the start and the end. :)
Can she/he turn into something else at will? :)
