Carpe Diem Autumn Retreat 2017 departure #13 gone with the wind

Dear friends,

The Carpe Diem Autumn Retreat 2017 is running towards its end, August 15th 10:00 PM (CET) it will be closed, and this retreat I wasn't very active, because of all different reasons, but well ...

However I love to give it a try to catch up, but that means I have to do 18 other posts ... I don't know if that's possible but I will give it a try. Here is my 13th post to the CD Autumn Retreat 2017:

angry at the gods
she torns apart the holy scriptures
gone with the wind

post 14:
leaving school
an outcast he is
being gay

post 15:
autumn departs
in deep silence willow leaves fall -
tears on this grave
as the willow is green again
another year has gone
autumn in Koyo (Japan)
post 16:
crystal cobweb
sparkles in the early sun
dewdrops vaporize
just a little while
I felt a rich haiku poet
post 17:
broken branches
last leaves ripped apart
autumn departs
the first snow starts to fall
cuddling in front of the hearth
post 18:
reflections
scattered by autumn leaves
the old pond
autumn in Japan
post 19:
searching wisdom
I pray to Mother Earth
before leaving

post 20:
a last leaf
swirls on the wind towards the east -
first snow falls gently

Carpe Diem Autumn Retreat 2017 (9) leaving home

Dear friends,

Maybe you have noticed it, but the Carpe Diem Autumn Retreat 2017 is running. This Retreat the theme is "departure" and I think it is a wonderful theme for autumn, but ... and that you will have seen also ... I am not a regular publisher in this Retreat, but I love to change that.

So here is a new "impromptu" verse themed departure:

leaving home
in a hurry
grandfather again

No ... I have not become a granddad again, it is a haiku I wrote, because two (2) of my grandchildren had birthday last month. And two (2) other grandchildren this month ...

See you ...

Carpe Diem Autumn Retreat 2017 (7) leaving home

Dear friends,

As you maybe know I am hosting a daily haiku meme, also on blogspot, titled Carpe Diem Haiku Kai and maybe you know that I am initiating a seasonly retreat every season. The Carpe Diem Autumn Retreat 2017 is running already for a month and I have already read wonderful haiku and tanka, but until today I didn't publish a lot for this autumn retreat, so today that's going to change.
The theme for the Carpe Diem Autumn Retreat is departure, because I associate autumn with departure and leaving or letting go ... not an easy theme maybe, but of course I just want to challenge you and myself.

leaving home
the youngest son of four kids
finally on his own
cherishing the love of his life
being together as one

© Chèvrefeuille

It's a strange idea that the last of your children is leaving the nest ... of course we all know that they have to go one day, but as that day comes it gives you a real feeling of departure ... your life as parents is changing immensely ... an empty nest ...

See you again ...

September Heights, day 30 free

Inspired by the theme at

This is the last day of September Heights, it was a joy to participate in this challenge to write a haiku every day on a given prompt. Today our journey will end and we have to wait 'till April 2013 for a new April Heights.
The prompt for today is free given by Rachana. So I can take this for real and write a haiku on 'free' or I can write a haiku without a given prompt, that's also free I think. But ... I would like to share a few haiku which I have written in the past.

Last Spring I contributed a set of haiku to the haiku-contest of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF) as I did in 2011 and in 2010. In 2010 one of my haiku got a honorable mention which made me very proud. This year ... none of my two haiku got a prize or a honorable mention, but I love both haiku very much and I think they are both wonderful. The VCBF haiku-contest is over so I can post my contribution of this year here.

I love seeing my Cherry Tree bloom. It's almost magical when I see the fragile blossoms open. In the moonlight they look even more fragile ... so wonderful and mysterious.

such fragility
sprouting cherry blossoms
in pale moonlight

cherry blossoms bloom
in the moonlight so fragile
ah! the Spring breeze

And to write a haiku on the given prompt free ... well I have to try.

finally free
after a long hot Summer

Well ... it was really a joy to be part in this September Heights. And if you, my dear visitors, have need for another daily haiku meme ... come visit my new weblog Carpe Diem, seize the day ... you can write a daily haiku on a given prompt. This new daily haiku meme will kick-off October 1st with the first prompt waterfall.

For closure:

I loved reading all your entries for September Heights. I am sure that I have missed a lot of your posts, but ... I hope you will forgive me. During lack of time I couldn't comment on all your wonderful posts. Hope to see you again somewhere, some place ... see you all next April Heights.

Blessed Be.
